MEET THE VISIONARY BEHIND
HOPE COMES IN THE MOURNING

Hi! Thank you for being here. My name is Winter Copen, the wife of Robert Copen, and the mother of Lawson, Meadow, & Krew. I am a chaos coordinator, dog mom of 6, "hobby farmer", Realtor, Amanda Clearcreek alumni, current Bloom Carroll bulldog, and lover of helping all things – human and animal.
The mission for Hope Comes in the Mourning was given to me by God, after the tragic loss of my cousin, Andrew, and the yearn to do something for somebody, somewhere. I hope with this organization, you or someone you know, will find happiness through their grief and sorrow, and sunshine on the rainy days. John 13:7 says, "you do not realize now what I'm doing, but later you will understand."
I love you all.
About Hope Comes in the Mourning
On November 30, 2024, my cousin, Andrew Lee Mattox Jr., was involved in a tragic accident that ultimately claimed his life a few days later. Andrew was only 34 years old and left behind two children, Taylor and Gunner. This incident was heart wrenching for all of us, but the worst of it all was seeing how heartbroken his children were. Grief and sadness can be life changing for the average adult, but when I thought about the little soul of a child going through the same big emotions, it lit a fire in me and I knew I had to create something amazing to help other families like ours.
Hope Comes in the Mourning was founded with the belief that no one should have to navigate the grieving process alone. Our team of dedicated individuals have firsthand experience with loss and understands the importance of providing compassionate support to those in mourning. We are committed to offering a safe space for individuals to share their stories, find healing, and honor their loved ones. Our personalized approach and genuine empathy sets us apart in the field of grief support, whatever that looks like for you and your loved ones.
